Do you offer Classes?

I do not offer wheel-based classes at Shake a Tail Feather Studio; I only have one wheel, and learning the wheel can take lots of practice. I  cannot facilitate that kind of practice time on my wheel when I need it for my own production work.

The Yellowknife Guild of Arts and Craft offers pottery and mixed media classes seasonally.

Why can't I find a phone number for the studio?

I often get asked about why I don’t have a phone number posted for the studio. The short answer is that as a part time one-woman operation, there’s a good chance that I am at my day job or my hands are dirty in the studio, and if not, I’m likely with my family. 

Email or message (Facebook or Instagram) is a much easier way for me to respond to most queries as I’ll be better equipped to give a more thoughtful answer when I have the time to do so. I do my very best to respond to emails within two business days, but I just ask for your patience (again, the one-woman show thing can be a bit tricky).

If you’re just a phone person, or a phone call would just be WAY more convenient for you, please feel free to message me and let me know - I can give you a call, or provide you with my number.

Do you take custom orders?


I am not currently in a position to accept custom orders at this time. 

How do I collect my order?

Shipping & Handling:

  • As shipping costs continue to rise, I try to save myself and you the customer money, as well as reduce my environmental impact by using as many recycled items in the shipping process.

  • Shipments go out on Tuesdays. Orders placed before midnight MST Sunday, will be shipped on Tuesday. 

  • The flat rate shipping option is estimated based on past orders. Significant overages will be refunded. If your shipping exceeds the amount quoted I will send you an invoice for the difference and hold the shipment until payment has been received.

    • Flate Rate 1 item: $20​

    • Flat Rate 2 or more items: $30

Local Pick Up/Delivery:

There is an option at check out to select local pick up/delivery. In most cases I will deliver pieces as it is hard to mesh schedules with two children and I also have very vocal dogs.

  • You will be contacted within 48hrs of placing your order to arrange pick up or delivery of your order.


I want you to be happy with your items. If for any reason you are unsatisfied with your purchase please contact me within 3 days of receiving your item(s). All shipping charges are at the customers expense and WILL NOT be refunded. I will refund the item amount once I receive it back in the condition it was shipped.

Damaged Items?

If your items are broken or damaged in anyway, please email me photographs of each item and I will refund you for the damaged items. 

Buyers Remorse?


You are able to cancel your order until it ships. Please note as I get charged a fee to process refunds, your refunded amount will be subject to a $5 administration fee.
